Keynote Speaker, Dave T. Meberg, President and Chief Executive Officer, Consolidated Carpet

David T. Meberg is President and Chief Executive Officer of Consolidated Carpet, a third generation, family business, established in 1943. Under his leadership, Consolidated Carpet has grown to become one of the largest full-service flooring contractors in the industry. Its five offices service the New York/New Jersey metropolitan marketplace, Chicagoland area, commercial facilities throughout the country, and select clientele worldwide.

David is President of the Greater New York Floor Coverers Association, Co-Chairman of INSTALL (International Standards and Training Alliance) and a past Chairman of the Floor Covering Installation Contractors Association (FCICA). He is also a member of the Board of Governors and Executive Committee of the Building Trades Employers' Association (BTEA). David serves as Trustee and Co-Chairman of the New York District Council of Carpenters Benefit Funds. These funds have a combined value of over $7 billion and service over 30,000 beneficiaries. He is also a Director of CCA Metro, The New York City Carpenters Labor Management Corporation.

From April 2012 to April 2015, David served on the Board of Directors of Starnet Worldwide Commercial Flooring Partnership, the largest commercial flooring cooperative in the industry. Since 2020, he has been serving his second term on the Board of Starnet.

He is recognized throughout the commercial interiors construction industry as an expert on the issues of floor covering and installation, has authored several articles on the benefits of employing and training installers, and has been interviewed on numerous occasions by trade media on issues affecting that sector of the industry. He has been awarded the Francis JP McHale Award by the Greater New York Floor Coverers Association for his ongoing service and dedication to the floor covering industry.

Closing Keynote Session - Wednesday, March 23 

Keynote Speaker, John West, CIM, Project Manager and Flooring Manager, FL Crane and Sons

John West, CIM, Project Manager and Flooring Manager with FL Crane and Sons has been in the flooring industry for 22 years, first as an installer for 18 years and 4 years in his current management position. John holds industry certifications from the International Concrete Repair Institute (ICRI) and the National Association of Floor Covering Technicians (NAFCT) and is a proud CIM, Certified Installation Manager, FCICA’s certification program. John also serves on the FCICA board of directors. At Wednesday’s Closing Keynote Session, John will share his experience as a CIM and how the Program training has benefited his work, company and clients.

Education Session 3: Ceramic Tile Wall Applications and Considerations for All Sizes, presented by Daniel Grant, CIM, CTI, CCSMTT, Technical Field Representative, ARDEX America 

This presentation will highlight the what it takes to successful tile wall installations. Daniel will review substrates, application, the composition of the tiles, as well as sizes of tiles from mosaics to gauged porcelain panels. 

3:30 – 4:30 pm

Education Session 4: Protecting the Customers Investment and Your Bottom Line, presented by Don Styka, CIM, Director of Field Services, Tarkett

This presentation will address common challenges with floor damage by other trades or improper initial maintenance that results in the flooring contractor spending time, resources and possibly profit from the job to resolve the issue for the customer.
