  • Managing Jobsite Risks - In this CIM sponsored session using the discussion and input format, Don Styka, CIM, Director of Field Services, Tarkett and Mike Pigeon, CIM, Operations Manager/Vice President, Floor Connection will hold a Q & A educational session that includes managing onsite conditions in order to minimize claims, clarifying the job scope before the job starts, and establishing manufacturer support with warranty requirements.
  • COVID 19 and Contractor Liability Issues – Doing business looks different today. It’s imperative contractors and business owners understand how to move forward in this new environment. In this session, the presenters will discuss COVID-19's impact and the issues contractors and business owners should consider when taking steps to protect their businesses, as contractors and as employees. Presented by Sloan Bailey, Esq. and Paul Pfeilschiefter, Esq., Bailey Law Partners, LLP, FCICA legal counsel.
  • Distribution Challenges During the COVID-19 Pandemic – The industry’s distribution network has been impacted by the current state of affairs. In this session, Bill Mabeus, Executive VP of Fishman Flooring Solutions, will address the ripple effect within distribution channels, the challenges business owners are facing and how are they responding to keep product distribution in balance.
  • Basic Chemistry of Adhesives - Presenter, Jeff Johnson, FCIS Product Manager, MAPEI Corporation will discuss the basic chemistries used for adhesives involved with bonding resilient, carpet and wood flooring to common substrates.  We will also discuss in depth new emerging adhesive chemistries that are being brought to the market that provide unique properties that solve common installation problems. Specifically, we will be discussing the following topics: (1) Basic chemistry of flooring adhesives, (2) High moisture resistant, water-based adhesives for LVT, (3) Modified saline-based adhesives for resilient flooring, (4) Aerosol-based adhesives.
  • ASTM F3311 The Mat Bond Evaluation - Kevin Phillips is the Director of Technical Services at Novalis US, LLC. and as a current member of ASTM F06 Kevin was instrumental in developing the new ASTM F3311 − 19 Standard Practice for Mat Bond Evaluation of Performance and Compatibility for Resilient Flooring System Components Prior to Installation. During this session Kevin will cover topics like:  who, what and when to test, the responsibilities, the liability, its evaluation and importantly what’s the real cost and who pays.

   

How To Attend a Virtual Meeting

1. Click the registration button and sign up.
2. You'll receive an email confirming your registration, including instructions on how to log on to the virtual platform - and attend.

3. Access your account on the Virtual Platform, Crowd Compass. Click here for full instructions.

1. • Open your invitation email. Access your invitation on the device that you plan to use for the event.
   • Tap Verify Account.
   • Activate your account. Underneath the Open App button, click web browser to complete the verification via the Online Event Guide.

4. Build your profile
   • Access your profile settings. After logging in, tap the hamburger icon in the top left, then tap your name at the top of the screen.
   • Tell us about you. Upload an image, choose your privacy settings, connect any relevant social media accounts, and fill out the text fields to give other attendees a sense of who you are.
   • When you’ve finished, tap Done.

5. Take your profile public
   • Edit your profile. If you don’t mind fellow attendees seeing your profile, you can set it to public.
   • After logging in, tap the hamburger icon in the top left, then tap your name at the top of the screen.
     Update your settings. Under Privacy Settings, toggle your selection to “Public” to make your profile visible to anyone on the attendee list.
   • Tap Done to save.
6. Adding to your schedule
   • Open the schedule. After logging in, tap the Schedule icon.
   • Browse the calendar. Switch days by using the date selector at the top of the screen. Scroll up and down to see all the sessions on a particular day.
   • See something interesting? Tap the plus sign to the right of its name to add it to your personal schedule.
7. View your schedule
   • Take a look at your agenda. Tap My Schedule to see what sessions you’ve added.
   • Make edits. Tap the minus sign next to any session you’ve added to remove it from your schedule. You can also tap the name of any session to be taken to its detail page.
8. Export schedule
   • Access your schedule. After logging in, click My Schedule under My Items on the left.
   • Export it. Click the Export Schedule button in the top center of the screen. Your schedule automatically downloads.
   • Click the download file and choose which calendar you’d like to export your schedule to, then click OK.
9. Message Attendees
   • Access the Attendee List. After logging in, tap the Attendees
   • Send your message. Find the person you want to message by either scrolling through the list or using the search bar at the top of the screen.
   • Tap their name, then Message to start texting. To pick up a chat you previously started, tap the hamburger button in the top left of the event home screen, then My Messages.
10. Sharing on social media
    • Access the Activity Feed. Begin by logging in. If your event’s home screen is the Activity Feed, go to the next step. If you see navigation icons on your event’s home screen instead, tap the Activity Feed
    • Publish your creation. Tap Post in the top right corner, then type your message. To include pictures, tap Add Photo. Once you’ve finished, tap Share.
11. Share your message
    • Find your post. To share to social media, find your post on the Event Feed.
    • Share it. Tap the ellipsis icon at the bottom right of your post, then Share to Social.
    • Select your desired social platform from the menu. This action shares a link to your post in the online version of the event.
12. Taking notes
    • Find your content. After logging in, find the session, speaker, organization, or attendee you'd like to create a note about.
    • Once you've found the item you're looking for, tap on it.
    • Write your note. Tap the note icon to bring up a blank page and your keyboard. Enter your thoughts, observations, and ideas. Tap Save when you've finished.
13. Export your notes
    • Navigate to My Notes. Tap the hamburger icon in the top left, then My Notes.
    • Here you’ll find all your notes organized by the time you created them.
    • 2 Choose where to send your notes. Tap the share icon in the top right to automatically generate an email draft that contains all your notes. All you have to do is enter an email address, then tap Send.
14. Networking – share your info
    • Access the Attendee List. After logging in, tap the Attendees
    • Send a request. Find the person you want to share your contact information with by either scrolling through the list or using the search bar at the top of the screen.
    • Tap their name, then Add Contact to send a contact request. If they accept, the two of you will exchange info.
15. Continue the conversation
    • Access My Contacts. Tap the hamburger icon in the top left of the screen, then My Contacts. Here you’ll find a list of all the attendees you’ve exchanged contact info with.
    • Connect inside or outside the app. Find that interesting person you just met and tap their name.
    • You’ll be taken to the attendee’s profile, which shows their bio, contact info, and all the social networks they’ve linked to their account. Tap any of the social media logos to view that attendee’s page.
    • Underneath the attendee’s profile picture, tap Message to chat in the app or Meeting to schedule an appointment through the app.
